Why can Partying for
peace beeffective?
Coming together in
the spirit
of celebration gives us an opportunity
to gather in community
in a
form that transcends our differences.
We can take a strong
stand for
peace pure and simple, without getting caught up in the political
quagmire,
where responsibility for current events is confused by the dynamics of
nationalism, pain, revenge and the complexities of world history.
In the spirit of
celebration
we can find solution to our global crisis through networking - melting
down our differences through the exchange of information and
perceptions
and through the rebuilding of our community relationships.
Community celebration
breaks
through our isolation and sense of powerlessness, creating bonds
between
hitherto strangers, giving us all a sense of the wider community that
lies
outside of our homes and TV sets -
An experience of our
world being
a wonderful place where
we can enjoy our common
purpose
-
LIFE and our
collective
celebration of LIFE
The desire and need
for the enjoyment
of the gift of life is in the heart of every human being. The
sense
that "something is wrong" and needs to be fixed is a reflection of the
absence of enjoyment that many people are experiencing all over our
world.
Out of this sense that "there is something missing", radical acts to
attempt
redress that take place and on the lunatic fringe this shows up in such
acts as the World Trade Center disaster.
Can it be so simple?
Yes
If we begin at the
core - our
need to celebrate our life, from addressing that
need by simply
celebrating,
we are in a much healthier and powerful
state of mind to address
the
more complex issues, because the angst of
that need not being met,
distorts
all other thoughts and actions.
Also the unity that
is a result
of us celebrating collectively allows much clearer communication for
decision
making when action is required.
Partying for Peace is
a simple
concept that can be heard
right across the
spectrum of
human culture

Our time for action
has come,
the very fabric of our global civilisation is threatened and our
leaders
do not have a clue how to handle it and are leading us down the spiral
to global warfare - Is that what we want?
