Access to the stones on the solstice and the opportunity for participation
in the peace process is open to everyone without any kind of label other than that of
being a Human Being
The Summer Solstice Experiment is a victory for common sense
and a gigantic step forward in the healing of our society,
an example to the world of what is possible. It was a tremendous
act of faith by all and a statement as to the power of agreement
to bring about peaceful resolution to a conflict situation.

This group meets the first wednesday of every month in Amesbury Wiltshire
and is open to anyone interested in the issues both regarding Stonehenge, access
and the wider issues concerning the relationship between the alternative culture and the mainstream.

The Following was written by the late George Firsoff
after access to Stonehenge was was reinstated
It is generally agreed that the public access to Stonehenge which took
place over the nights 20/21st June 2000/01 took place in an atmosphere of
good will and was successful in making a historic step towards
normality. Much can be learnt from this experience and at this meeting
we are getting together to share and review our experiences.
It is not yet the end of the road for our work of
historical peacemaking and reconciliation.
The Commission is an open forum and is a voluntary initiative of The
International Institute of Peace Studies & Global Philosophy, and of The
Stonehenge Peace Process which is a project working to bring together
all parties with an interest in the controversial issues of access to
Stonehenge and the surrounding landscape. We believe that a lasting
solution can only be found if everyone participates and the legitimate
needs of everyone including druids and pagans, local residents,
authorities, new age travelers, the public and all Solstice visitors
can be addressed in a spirit of compromise.

The climate that has led to the difficulties over the past 20 years is the
collective result of our personal conflict, first within ourselves and acted
out with each each other. The war is over for us when we allow it to be so.
This "Solstice Experiment" can be an example to the world as to how a
society can heal itself, it is a great opportunity that we are involved in.
