The beat goes on ... Stonehenge Solstice
2004 brings new
challenges as
the flower of the midsummer solstice gathering begins to bloom.
As the conflicted times of the past fade
into distant memory,
Stonehenge has for the past three years been opened up for a short
period, for our midsummer Solstice celebration. (32,000 last year).
Extensive negotiations over a period of years by individuals from all
points of the compass have made this possible.

The
Stonehenge Peace Process is a delicate fragile fabric is woven
bythreads of trust between the most unlikely. There are many who want
to celebrate the Solstice at or near Stonehenge for an extended period
and there are many within the local area who find that idea extremely
challenging to say the least.
The
Stonehenge Solstice community is diverse and amorphic, It acts like
an ant hill or a beehive with no apparent structure. Yet it seems to
have one mind and one heart. There are more radical elements and some
very conservative elements, a balance must be found between the two, as
in the greater picture of our global culture.
Stonehenge
is a crucible for all the issues that face our global
culture, the lessons learned here will reverberate around the world.
The StonehengeSolstice is already a BIG story, so lets get it right,
stay on track with the peace process, and continue to build the trust
between the community. - Meanwhile we have the whole world to party in.
